Avoca Hotel

If I could give more than five stars I would. This hotel was amazing! The staff- Nicola, Sarah, and Thomas were wonderful! They were so attentive, friendly, and kind. From the moment we stepped into the place we felt so welcome, almost like being with family. Our room was perfect- quaint and cozy with a beautiful view of the Mourn Mountains. The location was fabulous- close walk to anything in town and right across from the sea. We had breakfast once and lunch once during our stay- both were very good. Great service and delicious food. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay while you are in Newcastle, look no further!

I used the Avoca hotel for my wedding party for two nights at the end of the July. From the minute we booked with them the service was fantastic. Nicola couldn’t have been more accommodating or helpful as I navigated all the multiple bookings with friends and family. On the morning of the wedding all the staff were so helpful and kind. We had an early start and the cappuccino’s were kept flowing. The gentleman on the night desk was so lovely and cheerful, helping my hair dresser and make up artist inside at 6am in the morning! My whole wedding party were delighted with the warm welcome from all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and considering the stress that a wedding can bring at times, this was very much appreciated. The breakfast on the morning after the wedding was delicious. Myself and the groom are vegetarian and it was great veggie fry!! On the morning of the wedding we used the large 5 bedroom for hair and make up. It was the perfect size, I had ten girls / women to prepare and there was plenty of room for us to come and go. The decor is just stunning, modern colours and gorgeous furniture and finishings, making for beautiful surroundings and pictures. The view looking out to sea from this room was so relaxing and peaceful as the whirlwind of the day began it was nice to be able to enjoy that view as my make up was being done. We also received a lovely complimentary bottle of fizz. I honestly can’t speak highly enough of the staff and of the hotel. Thank you Nicola and team for a fantastic time at the Avoca. We will definitely be back in the future and will have fond memories forever of the wedding morning at your lovely hotel x

We stayed with my elderly parents last weekend. Nicola and staff were fabulous.. nothing was a problem, great breakfast too. Requested Seaview rooms and the did not disappoint!!! We really enjoyed our stay and I enjoyed the stormy weather!! Maybe I am mad but.... we will be back - no doubt about that. We also visited a sister venue O'Hara's excellent staff and food too! Thanks for everything Nicola your a great asset to the hotel!! See you very soon, especially now you're a TV star!!! Caroline and family

A stunning hotel in every way!! I took a solo trip here a few weeks ago as a treat to myself, and I could not have received a warmer welcome, especially from Emma although every single member of staff were so friendly and helpful. I was a bit anxious about going away on my first solo trip but all the staff made it so easy! My room to begin with was stunning - the really beautiful decor, the view of the sea, beach and promenade, and the very comfy beds. Fab!! The rest of the hotel is just as stunning with so many nooks and cranny’s complete with a Cosy fire. The cocktails are beautiful.. especially the French martini… Wowsers!! The waiting staff even brought me some homemade crisps that the chef had just made!! And the food is just as yummy!! A Beautiful dinner - amazing carbonara and a stunning sticky toffee pudding! Beautiful breakfast! I would urge everyone to stay here, I can’t wait to get back!
